The other night my dog passed away. Looking back over the past ten years I realized that I had learned many valuable lessons from her. This post is a summary of those lessons, for your benefit …and a eulogy. This is not a Thoreau-ian post about how we should get back in touch with nature, but more about how I grew from seeing the world through a completely different perspective. However, isn’t – being in touch with the world around you – just what being environmentally friendly is all about? … [visit site to read more]

Spirituality transcends religions, specific religious beliefs and even our physical world. There is a great debate amongst religious thinkers and psychologists: Did God create man with a need to believe in something greater than himself? Or, did man create God because of his need to believe in something greater than himself? … [visit site to read more]

One of America’s greatest heroes, Benjamin Franklin, understood that through planning and carefully monitoring one’s personal development one can go far. Here is an excerpt from his autobiography on how he set out to reach his goals:

“It was about this time I conceived the bold and arduous project of arriving at moral perfection. I wished to live without committing any fault at any time; I would conquer all that either natural inclination, custom, or company might lead me into. As I knew, or thought I knew, what was right and wrong, I did not see why I might not always do the one and avoid the other. But I soon found I had undertaken a task of more difficulty than I had imagined. … [visit site to read more]
